Joanne Woodward:
Sexiness wears thin after a while and beauty fades,
but to be married to a man who makes you laugh every day,
ah, now that’s a real treat…

Photos of these two always make me smile.
Snippet and Ink just posted more as well!

flashy flash.

The Modern Family flash mob
may be my favorite of all time,
but this is pretty awesome.

I did my hair today.
It looked pretty.
I also rode my bike to work.
It rained a lot.
Boo!!!!!!!!!!!
On the upside though,
I'm wearing my squirrely sweater
and that makes me happy :-)

Wow.

Jax Dog hates snuggling.

Just kidding.
It's his favorite thing.

define happiness: 2 toastys

Last night this old bird found herself in an unusual place.

At a bar as it was closing.

Favorite recovery meal?

2 Taco Bell Tostadas.

Sadly looking at that picture makes me really want two more.
hahahaha. no joke.

por favor?

Dear Shannon
I adore your work.
Come to Chicago and take pretty pictures of me.
Please and Thank you.

Oh, and bring me her boots. :-)

It's all mental....

Kim stop running.
Kim, you're tired, stop running.
Kim, you're legs hurt, stop running.
Stop running.
Stop running.
Stop running.

This is my brain on running.
It gets bored.
Quickly. Very Quickly.

Think about driving more than an hour.
You need the right tunes/podcast/book on tape
in order to keep your brain occupied.

Running is the same way.
I've found that most of the time my body is okay with the running,
but it's my brain that holds me back.

How do I combat this?

Podcasts. Long ones. Funny ones. Interesting ones.
Here are some of my favs!

Aside from Ira Glasses' overall awesomeness,
the stories are an hour long, and really entertaining.
A shout out to Madam Donut, who turned me on to TAL. :-)

Only a half hour long, but Jonathon Goldstein is hilarious.
It takes a couple to get to know the characters,
but it's funny sh*t.

 Funny economists?
Come on, it's endearing.

Chicago's own Peter Seigal hosts this Quiz show
(he's also a 3:25 marathoner and RW columnist)
along with Carl Cassel, Mo Rocca, Paula Poundstone
and many others. It. never. disappoints.
Anthony and I went to a live taping this year andit was hilarious.

Download "The Game"
If you laugh, you'll like all of these.
If you don't, maybe this one isn't for you.

Also not too long and unfortunately pretty infrequent,
but it doesn't get much better than listening
to your favorite celebrities talk about music they love.
My favs? Rainn Wilson and Ceelo Green.

How about you? What do you listen to when you run?

What a wonderful phrase.

Not sure why,
but this little gem
popped in my head at yoga today
and made me smile.

lovely

some photos are just pretty and need to be reblogged.

Justin Chung is self-taught, new to photography, and fabulous.
I really like how laid back and honest his work feels.
and I just adore his blog

and I love him.

Some scenes are just perfect.
Top of my list?

Anthony fishing off a dock.

Actions speak louder than words.

Since Jax Dog can't talk,
he uses other methods to let us know
when he wants something.

Usually it's his climbing skills.

Good thing he's cute.

Kids are awesome.

My sister Kate sent me this picture this morning.
It made me laugh out loud.

This is my nephew Ethan getting ready for his first day of pre-school.

Love it.
Happy Monday!

Artsy-Fartsy

One of my favorite things to do on Saturday morning
is walk around the West Loop and look at art with Anthony.

Here are some shots of our latest excursion...

The photo below is a drawing...
quite possibly the best/most interesting drawing exhibit
I've ever seen.

I always enjoy Caleb's work.
He was one of Anthony's teachers at IU.

Anthony always claims I get "too close" to the art.

Pshhhhhhhh....not even touching it.

Happy weekend everyone!

A letter of warning....

Dearest Kim:

I know you think you're cool
talking about food all of the time and how much you run.
Eating pizza and drinking beer for dinner
3 days in a row before an 18 mile run?
No sweat because you're tough, right?

Well, if you think I'm going to carry you 26.2 miles
with such a carefree "I can do anything" attitude,
you're mistaken sister.

Sincerely,
The 30 year-old body you think
is going to carry you across the finish line in 5 weeks.

Yep, looks like it's time I get my act together.
I've been all loosie-goosie about this marathon,
and today was brutal

For now though, it's nap time.

The Summer Wind

Even though it's now September,
the weather still thinks it's August.
To combat the heat,
I made the perfect summer lunch today.

Cherry Tomatoes
(from Momma B's garden)
A handful of basil
(because my basil plant is overflowing)
Fresh Mozzarella Cheese
(this needs no reason)
Nectarines
(my favorite fruit of all time)

I even sat outside and ate it....
but only lasted 5 minutes.
